Rising Damp
Identifying the source of rising damp and implementing solutions.
What is it?
Rising damp is a common issue that can have serious long-term impacts. It occurs when groundwater rises through the walls and floors of a building, bringing with it salts and minerals that can weaken structural integrity. The presence of rising damp can be identified by surface damage on walls, peeling paint, and a musty smell.
If left untreated, rising damp can cause significant structural damage to a building, including weakening of the walls and floor, decay of timber, and even growth of mould.
